Little Sunbeams Yoga and Mindfulness classes are currently paused.
As a Paramedic for 10 years, I see the effects of stress on both the body and mind. We are busier and more stressed than ever, impacting negatively on our health and well-being. When we learn to properly relax…not just plonk ourselves down in front of the TV with a large glass of wine…although that is very nice!…we allow our stress hormones to reduce, shifting our body and mind from our flight/flight response, to our more relaxed rest/digest response. When we are chronically stressed, our immune system is reduced, our posture and breathing is effected, our sleep is restless, we become chronically tired, which sends the cycle spinning again…not to mention poor digestion, libido, anxiety…etc.
So, Relaxation may seem like an excessive waste of time, but when you put it context of the bigger picture of your health and well-being, it starts to have more significance. When we learn to relax properly, we can shift into a relaxed state quicker, giving our body and mind a break more frequently for longer.
All Michelle Gwynne Yoga classes and Little Sunbeams Yoga and Mindfulness classes offer relaxation with every class.

NEW TO YIN? DON’T KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT? – Yin yoga is unlike any other style of yoga. It is all floor based, quiet, introspective, where we settle into a gentle shape and stay there for a couple of minutes. Yin yoga works on several levels, physically it is beneficial for connective tissue, fascia and joints, specifically spine and hips. With regular practice it helps to loosen tight joints and helps improve flexibility. Energetically it works on 6 main Meridian Line which run through the major organs and are stimulated during certain poses. The Meridian lines are from Traditional Chinese Medicine. Regular Yin yoga practice helps to cultivate mindful awareness and develops a non-judgement observance.
I have been practicing Yin Yoga for 15 years and love it!
Yin Yoga is a very simple practice…but simple isn’t always easy!
4 WEEK BEGINNERS COURSE – Just finished the most recent course, look out for the next dates.
£30 FOR THE COURSE INCLUDING EMAILED HANDOUTS. BOOKING IS ESSENTIAL.
Come and join a friendly, relaxed class designed just for beginners! It is a gentle introduction to some yoga basics in a class where everyone is starting from the same point. No jargon, no weird stuff, just basic yoga poses, emphasis on mindful breathing and relaxation. Each class builds on from the last, there are emailed handouts included in the cost and for the super-eager students, there is optional homework!! The aim of this course is to provide a safe and non-intimidating environment in which people can feel comfortable trying something new.
Held at Littleborough Cricket Club, 8.30-9.30pm. Cost is £30 for the course including emailed material.

Regular weekly classes are held at Littleborough Cricket Club on Tuesdays, 7-8.15pm. Beginners are warmly welcome to join this class on completion of beginners course. However, the regular yoga class can happily accommodate new comers with no yoga experience if you prefer just to jump in! x
REGULAR HATHA CLASSES TUESDAYS AT LITTLEBOROUGH CRICKET CLUB 7-8.15PM
Our regular weekly class comprises of wonderful friendly students! Each class works around a theme, focus on mindfulness and breathing, there is guided meditation and relaxation with each class. Some classes are gentle, others are more strenuous, but however you are feeling, everything can be modified to suit your current level of practice and health. Come and join us, you will be made to feel welcome and will leave the class feeling relaxed and refreshed!
